Our Anteak line of furniture is treated with three layers of gloss lacquer.
Furniture that remains indoors requires no further treatment. When used
outdoors, several options are available for the furniture's care.
The first option is to do nothing. The result will be that over time the
furniture will turn a silver gray. Minor fillers which were applied during
construction will eventually crack during normal use of the furniture. If
desired, sealant can be applied to those surfaces.
The second option, which should only be applied after the existing finish
wears off, is to apply a long lasting wood lacquer suitable for outdoor
hardwood furniture. This option can be accelerated by thoroughly cleaning
the wood surface and than using a fine sand paper to remove the old wax.
Obviously, the better the lacquer that is applied the less frequent new
applications are required.
