Do not be alarmed by minor cracks. These are known as "checking" on the
timber and are part of the natural weathering process and have no affect
on the structure and durability of the furniture.
The beauty of teak wood furniture is that it is essentially maintenance
free. There is no need to oil or stain the furniture. However, oiling
and staining can be applied to preserve the natural color or create the
color of choice. We do not recommend either oiling or staining unless
one plans to do it yearly. Considering the durability of the furniture,
this labor will be required for many years to come. If this is something
that is desired, simply request detailed instructions on how to apply
yearly oil or stain or we can perform this service twice a year in
certain geographical locations for a nominal annual fee.
